15th International Congress on Logistics and SCM Systems 28-30 June 2021, Poznan, Poland
„Smart and sustainable supply chain and logistics – trends, challenges, methods and best practices”
Welcome to the ICLS 2020
The increasing digitalization of the processes in logistics and a need for more integrated and seamless cooperation in supply chain management are dominant trends in the business world currently . The emergence of the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems and advanced data analytics establishes new possibilities and challenges in logistics and supply chain management, for example driverless transport solutions, smart warehouses and smart shelves.
On the other hand, climate change is putting pressure on governments and international institutions to provide guidelines for companies on how to provide goods and services in a more sustainable way.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by all United Nations Member States are an urgent call for action in a global partnership. The 11th goal focuses on sustainable cities and establishes a new framework towards a more green transport solution in urban areas. Pressure on the reduction of greenhouse gases emission encourages development of more smart technologies that are cleaner and more efficient. The 12th goal calls for more responsible consumption and production, reduction of waste and more efficient use of resources. At a company level it requires for the application of new technologies at the hardware level but also it calls for new methods for data collection and analytics for sustainability assessment purposes.
The integration of the physical and cyber systems is necessary to achieve more environmentally friendly, efficient, safe logistics and supply chain operations.
It is our pleasure to invite scholars and practitioners around the world to participate in the 15th International Congress of Logistics and SCM Systems (ICLS 2020) to be held on July 1~3, 2020 in Poznan, Poland. It is organized by the Faculty of Engineering Management, Poznan University of Technology (www.put.poznan.pl) and co-organized by the International Federation of Logistics & SCM Systems (IFLS).
